THE GODS AND GODDESSES OF MARKIN

 

Mane:  Father of the Gods.  The God of Light.  He is represented as the Blacksmith.  Mane is one of the first gods.  He is the husband of Mara the Mother Goddess.  He created the Dragon, Smarellren and the Dwarves.  With the help of Lan, the War God, he created Zepperillion, Lord of the Balance.  He is honored by the T'Serril.  Symbol:  The Anvil.  The Schools of Power that his clerics use are:  Guardianship, Healing, Combat, Protection, Creation,Light, Metal Work, Rulership, Race and Good.  He is described as looking like a tall human male, with grey eyes and midnight black hair.  He is usually dressed in white robes.  Alignment:  Lawful Good.

 

Hulanie:  Goddess of Knowledge.  Mane's sister.  She is represented as the Wise Lady.  Hulanie is one of the first gods.  She is the wife of Lan, the War God.  Mother of Pe, God of Peace and Ahara, Goddess of the Stars.  She is one of the teachers and guides to the Witch-Warriors and Macx.  Honored by the Lizard People, also know as the Lithari.  Symbol:  An Open Book.  The Schools of Power her clerics use are: Healing, Necromancy, Summoning, Wisdom, Ancestors, Culture, and Literature.  She is described as looking like a short pretty human woman with fiery red hair and golden eyes.  She is usually dressed in green and gold robes.  Alignment:  Lawful Neutral.

     

Manta:  God of Darkness.  Mane's brother.  Manta is one of the first gods.  There is no representation of him as he is banished.  He gave Time to the World of Markin.  With the help of Mara, the Mother Goddess, he created Humans.  He is the father of the god Zerraphalias and the goddess Malaianna.  He is honored by the Changelings, also known as the Meihinar, until Hulanie freed them from his power.  He's bound under a misty island off the coast of the continent Jhenicar.  The Schools of Power his clerics use are:  Race, Everything, Evil.  He is described as looking like a tall human male, with midnight black hair and yellow gold eyes.  He is dressed in black armor.  Alignment:  Chaotic Evil.

 

Shae:  The Goddess of Nature.  Protector of Nature and the Creatures of the World of Markin.  She is the wife of Pe, the God of Peace.  Honored by the Swanmays, also known as the Deshren.  Symbol:  The Tree.  The Schools of Power her clerics use are:  Nature, Agriculture, Animals, Elemental Forces, Earth, Vegetation and Race.  She is described as looking like a tall shapely human female, with brown hair and hazel eyes.  She is dressed in dark brown and green robes.  Alignment: Neutral.

 

Goddess:  The Dark Lady of the Magics.  She is described as the Goddess Who is Yet to Come.  She is the Daughter of the Daughter of Knowledge, and the Lord of the Wood.  Her presence is bound to the God Zepperillion, Lord of the Balance.  Referred to as Dee by him, only Zepperillion can see her, unless she chooses otherwise.  Honored by the Ashlinel.  Symbol:  A Sphere or Circle.  The Schools of Power her clerics use are:  Magic, Peaceful Death, Life-Death, Rebirth, Messengers, and Time.  When she wishes to make an appearance, she is described as looking like a half-elf female, with dark blonde hair, and green hazel eyes.  She is dressed in blue and grey robes.  Alignment:  Chaotic Neutral.

 

Mara:  The Mother Goddess.  She came to Mane from the sky above the World of Markin.  She is represented as the Holy Mother.  Wife of Mane, Father of the Gods.  Mother of Dav, God of the Sea, and the twin Goddesses, Dari of the Sun, and Anee of the Moon.  Mara, with the help of Dari, Anee and Ahara, gave the World of Markin seasons.  Manta tricked Mara into creating the Humans.  Symbol: A Cloud.  The Schools of Power her clerics use are:  Wind, Birth, Community, Fertility, Marriage, Race and Seasons.  She is described as looking like a tall human female, with raven black hair and dove grey eyes.  She is usually dressed in midnight blue and black robes.  Alignment:  Lawful Good.

 

Lan:  War God.  Pulled from the Fire and Lava of Firi Mountain, by the Goddess Hulanie.  He is represented as the God of Fire.  Husband to Hulanie, Goddess of Knowledge.  Father of Pe, God of Peace, and Ahara, Goddess of the Stars.  He helped Mane create Zepperillion, Lord of the Balance.  One of the first Teachers and Guardians of the Witch-Warriors and the Macx.  Teacher of the Sword Masters and Mistresses.  Symbol:  Two Crossed Swords.  The Schools of Power that his clerics can use are:  War, Fire, Competition, and Redemption.  He is described as looking like a tall human male, with fiery red hair and bronze eyes.  He is dressed in gold and bronze armor with two crossed swords hanging down his back.  Alignment:  Lawful Neutral.

 

Zepperillion:  Lord of the Balance.  He was created by Mane, Father of the Gods and Lan, the War God.  Commonly referred to as the One Who Broke the Magic of Markin, Zepperillion is bound the Dark Lady of the Magics.  He is guide to the Champion and Enchantress of Owl Castle.  He is also the protector of the Clans of Xar, as they built Owl Castle for him.  Symbol:  The Balance.  The Schools of Power his clerics use are:  Strength, Thunder, Balance and Justice.  He is described as looking like a tall human male, with black hair and blue grey eyes.  He is dressed in either black and white robes or armor.  Alignment:  Neutral Good.

 

Dav:  Lord of the Sea.  The son of Mane, Father of the Gods and Mara, the Mother Goddess.  He was created when Mane and Mara reached into the waters of the World of Markin and drew him out.  Symbol:  A Wave.  The Schools of Power his clerics use are:  Sea, Water, and Oceans.  He is represented as having bluish tinged skin, with blue green eyes and white hair.  He is dressed in blue green wave like robes.  Alignment:  Chaotic Neutral.

 

Dari:  Goddess of the Sun.  She was created by Mane, the Father of the Gods and Mara, the Mother Goddess, when they reached up into the sky and brought the Sun closer to the World of Markin.  Sister to Dav, Lord of the Sea.  She is the Twin Sister to Anee, the Goddess of the Moon.  Dari helped Mara, Anee, and Ahara to create the Seasons of the World of Markin.  Symbol:  The Sun.  The Schools of Power her clerics use are:  Sun, Lightning, Dawn, and Seasons.  She is represented as looking like a human female, with golden hair and eyes.  She is usually dressed in golden robes.  Alignment:  Lawful Good.

 

Anee:  Goddess of the Moon.  Created by Mane, Father of the Gods, and Mara, the Mother Goddess, when they brought the moon closer to the World of Markin.  Anee is the Sister of Dav, Lord of the Sea, and Twin Sister to Dari of the Sun.  She is also the Wife of Narith, the God of Fate and Music.  Anee is also known as the Goddess of Love.  She helped Mara, Dari, and Ahara to create the Seasons of the World of Markin.  Symbol:  The Moon.  The Schools of Power her clerics use are:  Moon, Love, and the Seasons.  She is represented as having silver hair and eyes.  She is usually dressed in silver robes with a moonstone hanging around her neck.  Alignment:  Neutral Good.

 

Pe:  God of Peace.  Son of Lan, the War God and Hulanie, Goddess of Knowledge.  Created by Hulanie and Lan's love for each other.  Brother to Ahara of the Stars.  Husband to Shae, Goddess of Nature.  One of the original teachers of the Witch-Warriors and Macx. Symbol:  A Dove.  The Schools of Power his clerics use are:  Peace, Prosperity, and Trade.  He looks like a human male with brown hair and grey eyes, wearing brown and grey robes.  Alignment:  Lawful Neutral

 

Ahara:  Goddess of the Stars.  Daughter of Hulanie, the Goddess of Knowledge, and Lan, the War God.  She was created from the shining lights of the nighttime sky.  She is also called the Lady of the Stars, or the Huntress.  She is the Sister of Pe, the God of Peace.  Ahara is also the Wife of Bhenir, the God of Luck.  Together, Ahara and Bhenir created the Elves      of Markin.  Ahara also helped Mara, Dari and Anee to created the Seasons of the World of Markin.  Symbol:  Shining Star.  The Schools of Power her clerics use are:  Stars, Hunting, Darkness, Sky, and Race.  She is represented as looking like a female elf, with  dark red hair and blue green hazel eyes.  She usually carries around a bow and a quiver of arrows, to dispense the justice of the Hunt.  Ahara is usually dressed in dark blue and silvery grey robes.  Alignment:  Lawful Neutral.

     

Narith: God of Fate and Music.  Dragon's Son.  One of the Dragon's Children.  He is Husband to Anee, Goddess of the Moon.  Created by the Dragon to arrange the Fate of the Races of the World of Markin.  Symbol:  The Lute.  The Schools of Power his clerics use are:  Fate, Music, Arts, Crafts, and Oracles.  He is represented as looking like a human male with black curly hair and grey eyes.  He is usually dressed in black and grey robes.  He carries around a lute, that he plays all of the time.  Alignment:  Lawful Neutral.

     

Bhenir:  God of Luck and Thievery.  Dragon's Son.  One of the Dragon's Children.  He helped Ahara create the elves.  Brother to Narith, God of Fate and Music, Illythkyn, God of Trickery, and Shakari, Goddess of Mischief.  He is also the Husband of Ahara of the Stars.  Symbol:  The Dragon.  The Schools of Power his clerics use are:  Luck, Fortune and Good.  He is represented as an elf with dark blonde hair and amber eyes.  He is usually dressed in brown and green robes.  Alignment:  Chaotic Good.

     

Illythkyn:  God of Trickery and Thievery.  Dragon's Son.  One of the Dragon's Children.  Smarellren created Illythkyn to counter Manta's creation of Zerraphalias.  Illythkyn is the Brother to Narith, God of Fate, Bhenir, God of Luck and Shakari, Goddess of Mischief.  Symbol:  A Pair of Dice.  The Schools of Power his clerics use are:  Trickery and Good.  He is represented as having golden blonde hair with amber eyes, dressed in dark amber robes.  Alignment:  Chaotic Neutral.

     

Shakari:  Goddess of Mischief and Thievery.  Dragon's Daughter.  One of the Dragon's Children.  Smarellren created Shakari to counter Manta's creation of Malaianna.  Shakari is the Sister of Narith, God of Fate, Bhenir, God of Luck and Illythkyn, God of Trickery.  Symbol:  Three Cups and a Gem Stone.  The Schools of Power her clerics use are:  Mischief and Good.  Shakari is represented as having long blonde hair and amber eyes, dressed in amber robes.  Alignment:  Chaotic Neutral.

     

Jynara:  Daughter of the Royal House of Willow Forest.  She is the true goddess of Memory for the world of Markin.  She is represented as an elf lady, wearing a green silk shirt and brown leather pants of an adventurer.  Her cloak can become a set of large leather wings, if she wishes.  At her side is a sword that she uses to combat Vaydeth the Mother of Memory.  Her clerics can use the following spheres for their magic: Thought and Memory.  With Shae, she watches over the Deshren.  Her symbol is the seal of the Royal House of Willow Forest, which is a large Willow Tree in full bloom.  Alignment:  Lawful Neutral.

 

Zerraphalias:  Lord of Devils and Demons.  The Horned God.  He is the Son of Manta.  Brother to Malaianna, Goddess of Evil.  Zerraphalias was created by Manta in the Dark Mountains on the Continent of Jhenicar.  He is the Patron of Sorcerers.  He wishes to dominate the World of Markin for his father, Manta.  Symbol:  The Ram.  The Schools of Power his clerics use are:  Disease and Evil.  Zerraphalias is represented as having red blonde hair, gold cat's eyes, hooves for feet, and rams horns on his head, dressed in black fur robes.  Alignment:  Neutral Evil.

 

Malaianna:  Goddess of Evil and Violent Death.  The Dark Hooded  Lady.  She is the Daughter of Manta.  Sister of Zerraphalias, Lord of Demons.  Malaianna was created by Manta in the Dark Mountains on the Continent of Jhenicar.  She is the Patron of Sorcerers.  She wishes to rule the World of Markin for her father, Manta.  Symbol:  A Skull.  The Schools of Power her clerics use are:  Death and Evil.  She is represented as having black hair and eyes, with white skin and vampire fangs, wearing a hooded black robe.  Alignment:  Lawful Evil.

     

Myrkalla:  Lady of the Night.  Queen of the Nightmares.  Wife of Manta.  She was locked away by Mane and the other Gods, when the first world was destroyed.  Symbol:  A Black Horse with Fiery Eyes.  The Schools of Power her clerics use are:  Fear and Madness.  She is represented as having dead white skin, black hair, dead grey eyes, and wearing a black flowing wing like cloak.  Alignment:  Chaotic Evil.

 

Sythaneth: Goddess of Destruction and Chaos.  She was locked away by Mane and the other Gods when the first world was destroyed.  Symbol:  A Broken Shield.  The Schools of Power her clerics use are:  Chaos and Combat.  She is represented as a golden lady in full blood red armor, with a bloodied two handed sword.  Alignment:  Chaotic Evil

 

Vaydeth:  Lady Memory.  She is also known as the Queen of the Gods.  She is Mane's, Hulanie's and Manta's mother.  She is constantly in contention with the Goddess Jynara, who she feels is the userper of the titles and duties of the goddess of Memory.  She was locked away by Mane and the other Gods when the first world was destroyed.  Symbol:  A Closed Book.  The Schools of Power her clerics use are:  Thought and Memory.   She is represented as a short pretty woman with golden hair and eyes.  She is usually dressed in red and gold robes.  Alignment:  Lawful Evil.

 

Takarav:  Lord of the Storms.  He was locked away by Mane and the other Gods when the first world was destroyed.  Symbol:  A Lightning Bolt.  The Schools of Power his clerics use are:  Weather and Elemental Forces.  He is represented as a tall bright silvery haired individual with silver grey eyes, dressed in silver grey armor.  Alignment:  Chaotic Neutral.

 

Zycareth: The Forger.  He went into self imposed exile when the first world was destroyed by his creation of Technology.  Husband to the Goddess Dakav, Keeper of the Gates.  Symbol:  A Forge.  He is the Patron of the Mage Smiths.   The Schools of Power his clerics use are:  Creation.  He is represented as a tall well muscled man with thick jet black hair and green eyes. He usually carries around a mallet to create weapons and is dressed in a blacksmiths leather apron.  Alignment: Neutral.

 

Dakav:  Keeper of the Gates.  She was the guardian of the gate that held Myrkalla, Sythaneth, Vaydeth, Takarav, and Zycareth imprisioned.  She originally kept watch on the gates between the worlds, until the first world was destroyed.  She is the wife of Zycareth, the Forger.   Symbol:  An Archway.  The Schools of Power her clerics use are:  Travel and Guardianship.  She is represented as a tall brunnett  with grey eyes, wearing a rose colored robe.  Alignment:  Neutral.

 

The Dreaming:  She offers the races of the world their hopes and dreams.  She was imprisioned on the Dream Plain by Vaydeth, Lady Memory, just before the war of the Gods on the First World.  She is Myrkalla's sister.  The Schools of Power that her Clerics use are:  Illusion and Charm.  She is depicted as having many faces as she does not look the same way twice.  Symbol:  The Rainbow.  Alignment:  Lawful Good.
